The Great Sioux War ignited after the U.S. Government betrayed the Black Hill Sioux. They promised the Native Americans they could keep their tribal lands. But everything changed when they found gold. This ignited the Great Sioux War of 1876. General George Custer led his 7th Cavalry at the Battle of Little Bighorn. He grossly underestimated the strength of an Indian coalition and split his forces into small divisions. Custer found himself outnumbered by 2500 to 210. Many of the Native Americans
