The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works administers 97,033 streetlights within the 20 County Lighting Maintenance Districts for the unincorporated County area and 19 cities. Southern California Edison owns and maintains the majority of the streetlights within the unincorporated County and the streetlights we administer for the cities.

These advances have produced automated traffic intersection enforcement systems which produce photographic evidence of vehicles illegally running red lights. The systems combine a computer with a high-speed industrial camera and detection system to provide around the clock intersection enforcement.
