Feb 26, 2024 · The Nintendo 64 was delayed from 1995 to mid-1996 just to give Nintendo EAD enough time to finish Super Mario 64. Whatever the Switch 2 big launch title (s) is/are, Nintendo is clearly anticipating at least one killer app at launch. My easiest speculation is on Metroid Prime 4 and/or a new 3D Mario game. Full bc with switch games/digital purchases as well as nso, with more emulators being added as well as new games being released for the ones we currently have. Fucking decent internal storage with expansion slot and portable hdd support for the dock.

In my view, there's really no compelling reason to invest in the current Switch, whether it's OLED or not. My suggestion would be to exercise patience and wait for the Switch 2, or at the very least, wait until the official reveal of the Switch 2.

May 7, 2024 · If your current switch does everything you need, don't buy it. Take the money it would cost and lock it away for the switch 2.

If Switch 2 is announced now that will kinda hang everything releasing between now and the new hardware launch as a lame duck launch. There's no reason for them to hurt potential sales for Mario vs Donkey Kong, Princess Peach, Paper Mario 2, Splatoon 3 Side Order by announcing hardware early.

The Switch 2, actually being a Switch 2 or having any kind of backward compatibility whatsoever is one of the biggest rumors, but it will only be rumor until we get confirmation from Nintendo.

Apr 27, 2024 · The original switch is 7 years old (maybe 8 if the release is in 2025), any new hardware will be significant imo. Also I'm a bit sceptical because the leaker states that the screen "will have slightly larger dimensions", but in other leaks it'll probably be 8 inch, that's substantial compared to the original switch and even the oled imo.
