Hey, I'm a new Ryzen boi interested in purchasing a 5900x, the B550-F is cheaper than the X570 Aorus Pro and the X570-F and I'm running on quite a tight budget, so I'm just wondering there would be any disadvantages to running the 5900x on the ROG Strix B550-F for a non-overclocking standard consumer! Any answer will be appreciated.

Jan 23, 2023 · Hey, I am thinking about upgrading my system to an AMD Ryzen 5900X since on paper - at least for me - it looks very decent. With twelve cores running at 3.7GHz standard clock and up to 4.8GHz on turbo, it seems like a good option, especially for the money.

Mar 19, 2021 · I would suggest getting rid of the old-school manual OC/manual vcore and use PBO/Curve Optimizer. On Zen 3, undervolting is the new overclocking. My 5900x hits 23100 in CB R23 using PBO with a negative 28 magnitude in Curve Optimizer. This equates to a 0.084v to 0.140v undervolt from the default voltage curve.

Oct 10, 2022 · But ofocurse Ryzen 7000 comes at quite abit of a cost with their boards being a fair bit pricey, DDR5 ram. So not sure i'd really recommend it yet especially considering the 5800x3d is still pretty powerful and can trade blows with Ryzen 7000. So personally i'd just RMA the CPU for either a 5800x3d or a a 5900x replacement.

Mar 16, 2021 · Use ryzen master to see which of your cores are the best, usually indicated by a star or a grey circle next to the core in the application. Then, designate those to have the lowest values (for example, core 0 has a star next to it in ryzen master, so go in bios to the cure optimizer and go to core 0 and set it to negative ~15 or so)
