Three new counties have been added to the outbreak area, which has seen nine more cases over the past week, according to state data released on Friday.

The Texas health department reported a total of 718 cases of measles in the state as on Friday, an addition of one case since its last update on Tuesday, marking the lowest increase since the outbreak began in February.

State health officials have removed three Texas counties from the list of counties with active measles spread.
