Israel is sending a negotiating team to Qatar for talks on a Gaza ceasefire proposal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed. In a statement late on Saturday, Netanyahu’s office said the Israeli leader had instructed negotiators “to accept the invitation for close talks”.

Israel will send a delegation aimed at restarting talks with Hamas, after the militant group said it was ready to “immediately” negotiate a proposal by US President Donald Trump for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza.
