But the Capitals did what they've done best all season: stayed in the fight and found a way to escape with a point. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough to get the second one.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Alex Tuch scored twice, JJ Peterka had the deciding goal in the shootout and the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Washington Capitals 4-3 on Monday night.

Sabres forward JJ Peterka played a significant role in the win, as he had a big night. The 22-year-old forward made a big difference offensively, recording two assists and five shots. However, his biggest moment of the night was when he scored the shootout winner to secure two points for the Sabres.

What more can be said about the 2024-25 Buffalo Sabres season? Myriad three-game winning streaks have been had but it’s hard to talk about them with a 13-game losing streak thrown in there.
