The Las Vegas Raiders have named John Spytek their new GM, sparking jokes about the infamous Spygate scandal involving Tom Brady's New England Patriots.

The Las Vegas Raiders are hiring Pete Carroll to be the team’s head coach, according to reports. ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero first reported the news. CNN has reached out to the Raiders for comment.

Carroll, 73, returns to coaching just over a year since he parted with the Seahawks. He replaces the fired Antonio Pierce with the Raiders. Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, became a part-owner of the Raiders in October and played a central role in the team’s coaching search.
