C.J. Stroud's dream of winning the Super Bowl will be on hold for at least one more year after the Houston Texans lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC divisional round. Stroud has a clear choice for who he wants to see hoist the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans next month.

The Houston Texans are heading into the NFL offseason with a goal of taking another step towards contending for a Super Bowl. After having an aggressive offseason last year, the Texans went through major injury issues and fell in the Divisional Round of the playoffs to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs recorded eight sacks and hit Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud six other times. George Karlaftis had three of the sacks.

Stroud was drafted by the Texans in 2023 and signed a 4-year, $36,279,243 fully guaranteed contract that came with a generous signing bonus of $23,384,904. His base salary in 2024 was somewhat low at $915,000. He was also paid a roster bonus of $1,484,057 which made his total pay for the season $2,399,057.
