Newark Liberty International Airport suffered its second air traffic control outage in two weeks Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration confirms, capping another week of problems for travelers heading to and from New Jersey.

The Federal Aviation Administration said late on Friday it plans to meet with major airlines on Wednesday about potential temporary cuts in flights at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport to address recent major disruptions.

When the agency approved moving Newark air traffic controllers to Philadelphia, it said the odds of a dangerous communications breakdown was about 1 in 11 million.
