CINCINNATI — Ja'Marr Chase isn't looking to let the Bengals off the hook for not signing him to an extension last offseason. Fox Sports's Jordan Schultz reported this week that Chase is looking for $40 million per season on a new deal.

A Chase extension could indeed be friendly in Year 1, depending on the structure. That could, in turn, give the Bengals wiggle room to frontload another deal and/or pay out big for Higgins and/or Hendrickson, if not both, offsetting the big spike on Chase’s cap hits after 2025.

According to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports, Chase is expected to command at least $40MM per year on his next deal. This average annual value would easily put the WR atop his position, and it would even rival some QB contracts.
