KEY WEST — Two people and a 7-year-old child are dead after an apartment went up in flames in the Florida Keys Thursday night. Officials from the city's fire department and police force with the aid of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office were called out to a reported structure fire at 1010 Emma St. in Key West, city officials said on Facebook.

It happened Thursday evening in a three-bedroom unit in a public housing building at 1010 Emma St. in the island’s Bahama Village neighborhood. According to authorities, two adults and one child were killed in the blaze. They were identified Friday as Jean Decimy, 41, Evelyne Pierre, 38, and Dave Decimy, 7.

At least two people were seriously injured in a Key West house fire Thursday night, according to the city’s police department. The blaze occurred at a multi-family housing development at 1010 Emma Street, said Key West police spokesperson Alyson Crean.
