As winter weather hits North Texas, the Fort Worth Zoo is taking special measures to ensure the safety of its animals. Despite experiencing snow, rain, sleet and freezing rain, the zoo staff are diligently working to keep the animals warm and secure.

To ensure the animals’ comfort, the zoo workers have implemented various heating solutions, including heat lamps and heating pads.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7 shook San Francisco Bay Area residents awake on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake struck at 7:02 a.m., just 3 miles northwest of the San Francisco Zoo.

A preliminary magnitude 3.7 earthquake near Daly City was felt around the Bay Area Friday morning, followed by at least two major aftershocks. The initial quake was centered about 6 miles west-northwest of Daly City and 7 miles west of Noe Valley in San Francisco.
