The United States and United Arab Emirates will partner to build a massive data center complex in Abu Dhabi to advance artificial intelligence capabilities with 5-gigawatts of capacity — enough to power a major city.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday the United Arab Emirates and the United States have agreed to create a path for the Gulf country to buy some of the most advanced artificial intelligence semiconductors from U.

The announcement came during a Trump visit to Abu Dhabi to meet its president, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, and other UAE officials. It was the American president’s third stop of a Gulf tour this week that he says has raised trillions of dollars in investment for the US.
