It took us a little bit to figure out where to park. We passed what looked like a gravel parking area and some how found the arch & entrance. You can only reach the look out from this side as the foo…Full review by Christina B

Terrible! This community embarrassment is filthy, unkept, forever under construction, and all natural paths were blocked off with warning tape or baracades. The path of travel is around the perimeter…Full review by Che D

thefirstm: I think you've got the wrong location. The Hudson River begins in upstate New York, not in New Jersey. The Passaic River doesn't flow into the Hudson either. Correct me if I am wrong.

I don’t care where it flows. The Patterson falls were beautiful. The Passaic River is the body of water in which the Falls goes over in Paterson although I once lived in New Jersey 25 years ago and just visited this recently the Passaic River is very very very far away from the Hudson river so I’m not sure what your question is and I don’t really care where the water goes

Most of the reviews describe the walk to the falls as peaceful. How difficult is the walk? I’d like to bring my grandmother for a visit, but she’s not up for a strenuous walk. Is the hill that difficult?

I would think about that as there is a lot of walking around the paths. If she was just going to walk around the parking lot and see the falls that would be one thing but there is a some walking involved. Also, right now the parking lot is being rebuilt so I would wait until the Spring when they finish or she will have to do some real walking. I hope this helps.

The area around the falls is actually starting to gentrify as the artists are moving in to the old warehouses. Still I would not venture here after dark. It is part of the National Park system so there are rangers and police here and by the Paterson Museum so it is safe during daylight hours so no worries there. The parking is quite good but the parking lot is under construction now. You will be safe here.
